I painted these portraits to contribute to a traveling art exhibition that is designed to spread awareness about the Mushar people in India. The Mushar people are considered the lowest rung of the Indian caste system. Politically, socially, and economically segregated and powerless. Learn more at www.art4india.com

Birth of a Phoenix
The Phoenix was of course in Greek Mythology and used by the Early Church for a symbol of new life and resurrection…. plus it’s the street my wife Jami lived on when I met her… and a really good band from France. 🙂
The main concept was that out of a dry desert can come life and hope.

Rock On!
This painting is a tribute to American music legends like Johnny Cash. The hands were taken from a picture of Mr. Cash. I attempted to capture the excitement of a live show through dramatic color. I used my beautiful Martin guitar and a fake scull (of course ha ha) so it is partly a still life. Now go listen to Johnny! That is an order! 🙂
The Orange Bridge
This is from a picture I took on a hike in Auburn, CA. It was over cast. I got rained on a little… but it was totally worth it :).
So I think I captured that and added a little styling to make it a secondary triad…. or close.
I’ve always loved bridges and roads… guess I love to travel and meet new people and see new sites.
