About

Marianne currently lives in Sacramento but spent much of her growing up years in Auburn. As a very active and rebellious youngster, Marianne started painting when her Step Mother bought her first paint set as a way to “calm her down”.  Creating artwork has been a calming force in her life very since. She did her first oil on canvas painting in Junior High School and fell in love. While oil painting continues to be her favorite medium she has recently been experimenting with mixed media and acrylic. A few years ago God opened her heart and mind to the idea that she could begin using her artwork as a way to minister, teach, worship and further God’s Kingdom here on earth. Her artwork has shown at galleries in California and Oregon and is included in private collections. She currently curates the Art of Faith art gallery and annual art show at her church Fremont Presbyterian in Sacramento. She is also the art docent at Earl Warren Elementary School in Sacramento. She is a member of the Sacramento Fine Arts Center, Northern California Artists, Verge Art Center, and Crocker Museum. This year she is proud to be the chairperson for the Crocker’s annual fundraiser “Big Name, Small Art”. Marianne can be reached at [email protected].
